What You Need to Know About How Apps Are Made – Part 5 – Success

In this series, we discussed the “3 D’s of Development” – design, development and deployment. In this article, we’ll discuss what happens after these three phases are complete:

Now that your incredible app has gone live, what’s next? Overnight success? Unfortunately it’s not a case of “build it and they will come”. You have to let the world know about your app. Tell everyone you see, post about it on social media, make YouTube videos, blog about it, whatever it takes to get the word out. Be patient, and keep at it.

What You Need to Know About How Apps Are Made – Part 4 – Deployment

In Part 3 of this series, we discussed the second of the “3 D’s of Development” – Development. In this article, we’ll discuss what happens in the Deployment phase:

If you were building a home, there would still be some final tasks to complete before you received the keys and could move in. Things like cleaning up the building materials, taking off protective coverings, and putting up the address. Again, it’s very similar to deploying an application in that there are still some tasks to complete before the app “goes live”. These include making sure all the systems are online and ready to go, to preparing and submitting the apps to the app stores.

At Full Auto Media, we make sure all these tasks are taken care of so you can go live with confidence.

What You Need to Know About How Apps Are Made – Part 3 – Development

In Part 2 of this series, we discussed the first of the “3 D’s of Development” – Design. In this article, we’ll discuss what happens in the Development phase:

If you’re building a home, this is where you would see the skilled trades come to the site and start constructing your house. The same thing happens when you’re building an app. The team puts their skills to use to bring to life the features that were planned in the Design phase. This is where the foundation is layed, the plumbing and electrical go in, the walls put up and the interior design is completed. In technical terms, that means data storage, back-end, front-end, graphic design, really the whole works.

At Full Auto Media, we’ll share more prototypes with you during this process to ensure we’re all on the same page and on-time and on-budget.

What You Need to Know About How Apps Are Made – Part 2 – Design

In Part 1 of this series, we discussed the “3 D’s of Development” – design, development and deployment. In this article, we’ll discuss what happens in the Design phase:

If you’re building a home, the first thing you would do is work with the architect and contractor to design and plan how the home will be built and determine the schedule. For instance, do you want a 3 bedroom home, or a tiny home? Do you need it in a month or a year?

The same applies for application development. Meetings will be held with  you to determine what features the app should have, and what schedule would work for you. After the set of features is agreed upon, the team will estimate what is needed to achieve each feature. Then, a project plan will be drafted which will outline the tasks to be done and the overall schedule. Once the project schedule is agreed upon, the team will work on the technical design of the app.

Here at Full Auto Media, we’ll show you a prototype of the app to ensure we’re all on the same page.

What You Need to Know About How Apps Are Made – Part 1

Building a home uses a very similar approach to building apps. If you’re looking to have a home or an app made, you should know what the process is so that you get exactly what you’re looking for and you know where the time and money is spent.

There are many formal techniques used, but the process can be broken down into just three high-level areas. I call these the 3 D’s of Development:

Each of these areas will be discussed in their own articles in this series. Read the next article in this series – Part 2 – Design
